Use of gas heater

On departure:
Temperature knob: always set to 1. In high summer, the heater will be off.

Regulating heat:
Temperature knob has setting 1 to 7 to regulate heat output.

Lighting:
  1. Open the gas tap; the gas tap is open when the dial with the 'tip' pointing to the wall.
  2. Turn the temperature knob (= large control knob) to position 'star' and press it. Gas now flows to the pilot light burner.
  3. Press the small button (the ignition button) with the red dot a few times. A spark will now jump to the pilot light burner. If pilot light burns (however, this is very difficult to see, so a matter of trial and error) then keep the large control button pressed for at least 1 minute.
  4. Then release the temperature knob and turn it up to position 6 / 7. If the stove is on, you can regulate the heat with the temperature knob positions 1 to 7.
Warning! If the lighting does not succeed in 1 go then you should allow about 5 minutes between attempts.

Switch off:
If it is too hot to keep the stove on the lowest setting, then it can be turned off.
  1. Turn the temperature knob to 'round' position
  2. Turn the gas tap a quarter turn. This will close the gas tap.
